Nairobi National Park Tour/Excursion

A safari in Nairobi's National Park, only 13km (eight miles) from the city centre.  The Nairobi City borderes the Nairobi National Park on all but the southern perimeter so it is possible to photograph a rhino, browsing peace fully among the whistling thorn with high-rise office buildings in the backdrop. Some of the wildlife is migratory and when vegetation and water are present outside the park, they move out into Masai land through the unfenced southern boundary. There is also a resident population of plains game and predators so a visit at any time of the year is a rewarding experience. Well laid out, with exceptionally well-maintained roads, the park is a model for all others, geophysically and administratively. Of the most popular species only the elephant is an absentee. But the rest of the Big Five: leopard, lion, buffalo and rhino - as well as a multitude of other creatures are all well represented. the Nairobi National Park acan be visited in the morning or in the afternoon.

Karen Blixen Museum and the Giraffe Centre Tour

After breakfast you will have an enticing experience of a real touch, feeding Rothschild giraffes. There is an impressive variety of birds species which can be viewed through the year. A visit to the Karen Blixen Farm, named after a Danish lady who came to Kenya in the early part of this century.

It was used during the filming of the famous movie that immortalized Karen Blixen's book by the same name ('Out of Africa'). The Museum has beautifully landscaped gardens and an all-encompassing Ngong Hills View.

Lunch or Dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant - Nairobi

A trip to Nairobi on a cruise/tour is not complete (unless you are a vegetarian) without a visit to the Carnivore Restaurant. They deliver the meats on large swords, and you can eat as much (and as many different kinds) as you choose. Everything from antelope to zebra is on the menu. The Carnivore even serves roasted potatoes to cleanse your palate between courses.

1 Day Lake Nakuru National Park Excursion

Drive west of Nairobi to the Great Rift Valley, into the Lake Nakuru National Park, home of a huge concentration of pink flamingo, which live on the abundant algae in the shallow waters of the lake. After lunch in the park there will be another game drive to admire the amazing birdlife and various plains' game. Also of interest is an area of the Lake Nakuru National Park which is fenced off for the conservation of the endangered African rhino. Tea will be served by the lake before your return to Nairobi.
