12 Days Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Mount Kenya, Amboseli, Tsavo West and Tsavo East safari

Day 1 Nairobi - Masai Mara

You shall be picked from your hotel in Nairobi early morning depart to Masai Mara game reserve stopping at the view point of the Rift valley whose view of the valley below is splendidly panoramic and Narok town for a break and refueling. Arrive in time for lunch, after your lunch break; proceed for a late afternoon game drive, Return to your lodge /campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Masai Mara

Early breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve Masai Mara is famous for vast rolling plains and round hills of interminent groves of acacia woodland and dense thickets of shrubs. A picnic lunch at the hippo pool gives you a chance to spot crocodiles and hippos basking on the rocks you should expect to see three major animals of the big five namely The elephant lion and buffalo the leopard and Rhino are shy and elusive and you will be lucky to spot them, large herds of wild beasts zebras Masai giraffe can be sighted as well as scavengers like hyenas and vultures, Rest of the meals and overnight at your lodge or campsite.

Day 3 : Masai Mara

After breakfast depart on a morning game drive in this reserve which is essentially the Northern extension of Tanzanians Serengeti National park, take your lunch on your lodge or campsite In the afternoon you have a choice of three activities a game drive a nature walk with a native masai guide or alternatively visit a maasai village and learn their nomadic lifestyle (at an extra cost ) payable directly to the masai village elders after the activities return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

Early morning pre breakfast game drive, Return to your lodge for breakfast and final preparation to depart to Nakuru On you way to Lake Nakuru, pass by Lake Naivasha and the volcanic mt longonot arriving in Nakuru in time for late lunch.

After your lunch break proceed for a late afternoon game drive in the nearby lake Nakuru national park Return to your lodge camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Samburu

After your breakfast engage on a morning game drive at Lake Nakuru

National park the abode of various water birds that breed in the Alkaline waters including Flamingoes white pelicans among others depart for Samburu National park with a stop over at the magnificent Thompson falls located at Nyahururu this waterfall is named after Joseph Thompson one of the first European explorers who walked from the Kenyan coast (mombasa) to lake Victoria in the 1880’s lunch at Thompson falls After your lunch depart to samburu for dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp.

Day 6: Samburu

Morning and afternoon game viewing session tracking the rare drought resistant animal species which can only be seen North of the equator like the Reticulated giraffe Beisa oryx and the blue shacked masai ostrich The Ewaso Nyiro river traverses this park originating from The Aberdares chances are that you will spot crocodiles in this environment though its waters vary seasonally return to your lodge for lunch and leisure break in the mid afternoon

Late in the afternoon visit one of the local communities and learn their culture watch also their cultural dances dinner and overnight at your lodge or camp

Day 7: Samburu - Mount Kenya

After breakfast depart Samburu for Mt Kenya Nanyuki arriving in time for lunch visit the Mau Mau caves where Kenyan freedom fighters could hide from the British troops during the struggle for independence dinner and overnight at your lodge or a budget hotel.

Day 8: Mount Kenya - Nairobi - Amboseli

After your breakfast set-off for Nairobi with a stop ever at the biggest open air market in East Africa(Karatina) proceed to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch After your lunch proceed to Amboseli via namanga arriving in Amboseli late afternoon or early evening and have an enroute game drive on your way to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Amboseli

Wake up early for a pre breakfast game drive during this time you are likely to see a clear view of the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro Return to your lodge camp for breakfast thereafter proceed for another game drive in search for the big five and other plains game like wild beasts giraffe and the antelopes search also for hippos mostly alongside the semi permanent lakes and swamps like longinya the landscape is mostly dominated by open plains extensive stands of yellow bucked acacia woodland lava strewn thorny bush country and deep valley mountains like namanga lameboti and Elemborashe Birdlife is also prominent like masai ostrich the aquatic little grapes long tailed cormorants African data pelicans goliath purple heroin among others return for your lunch and a break to your lodge

Take on another late afternoon game drive to search for large herds of Elephants Errands cokes heartbeats white bearded ginu the white bearded ginu among others return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Amboseli - Tsavo West

After breakfast depart Amboseli for tsavo west national park with your lunch enroute Visit Shetani lava flows at Tsavo west which is of volcanic origin Visit also the Mzima springs which contains more than 20 million tones of crystal clear waters from the underground streams of the nearby Chyulu ranges Here you might see hippos crocodiles and fish from an underground glass tank specifically constructed for that purpose other animal species likely to be seen includes the “Red” Elephants cape buffaloes the greater and the lesser kudu in a thick acacia setting, Zebras among others dinner and overnight at you lodge.

Day 11: Tsavo West - Tsavo East

Have an early breakfast followed a game drive search for the rock hyrax squirrels and mongoose as the park contains a high population if these visit also the tempo peak and the famous Ngulia rhino sanctuary depart for Tsavo east national park with a stop ever for lunch at Voi town and at Tsavo east only the section south of the Galana river is open to the public for game drives the rest of the park serves as a wilderness for the animals to retreat into here the seasonal Aruba dam can be seen and crocodiles at the foot of Lugard falls dinner and overnight at voi safari club or similar.

Day 12: Tsavo East - Nairobi

After your breakfast depart for a final game drive and this time search for plains game man eaters (Lions) Zebras and a large herd of Elephants take your lunch enroute set off for Nairobi arriving late afternoon or early evening
